2nd Annual “Gazpacho in the Garden”!

An invitation to friends, farmers, and lovers of good food & merriment: Gazpacho in the Garden!

An agrarian celebration, dinner, and mingling at Morven Farm.
Saturday, July 21th @ 6-9pm

*Guests are asked to bring their own bowl and spoon, and we will happily provide a delicious dinner of homemade gazpacho, local breads, and an abundance of dishes featuring the tastes of summer. You are encouraged to bring along family, friends, picnic blankets, chairs, and outdoor games as we dine outside in the Morven Kitchen Garden.

Pay what you can (suggested donation $10) – all proceeds benefit the Morven Kitchen Garden, a 1-acre organic garden which hosts interdisciplinary student research and a unique UVA faculty/student CSA Program. Produce for the evening graciously donated by the Local Food Hub.

We are just giddy with all the busting green of spring, and we can’t wait to celebrate the season with you next Thursday, April 5th for our spring kick-off potluck in the Kitchen Garden! 5-7pm.

Be sure to bring a dish, a friend (or four), and your appetite!

Thanks again to everyone who joined us last Thursday for a lovely evening in the garden for our Back to School BBQ. While the rain threatened to dampen the party, the skies cleared just in time, and we ended up with a beautiful night! A big thank you also goes out to Jinx’s BBQ for supplying us with such deliciousness. Here are some photos of the evening – we’ll be sure to keep you posted about any upcoming events and community workdays!

Back to School BBQ!

Today marks the first day back at school for UVA – best of luck to all you students starting a new year! This week also means another month of CSA drop-offs, which will now take place on Friday afternoons from noon-1pm in front of the Special Collections Library.

In celebration of the start of fall classes and a BOUNTIFUL harvest in the Morven Kitchen Garden, we are having a party!

Featuring BBQ from Jinx’s, grilled corn from the Morven Garden, plus other indian summer dishes to share. Put September 1st on your calendar, and let us know if you can join us.

Gazpacho in the Garden

This week in the Morven Kitchen Garden, we are gearing up for our first event of the summer - Gazpacho in the Garden! Join us on Saturday, July 16th from 6-9pm for an agrarian celebration, dinner, and mingling at Morven Farm.

***You bring your own bowl and spoon, and we’ll happily provide a delicious dinner: gazpacho, fresh baked bread from Great Harvest Bread Company (freshly opened in McIntire Plaza), and many more tastes of summer. All produce graciously donated by the Local Food Hub.
